Shipping Update: Insured Shipping Is Now Standard

Our orders all ship insured so they are eligible for claims assistance in the event of loss or damage which has become a more frequent occurrance in the past month. Below is a chart that helps you maximize the shipping by boxes vs bags.

We previously offered customers the option to choose uninsured shipping - order at your own risk. After a lot of consideration—and based on our recent shipping experiences—we have made the decision to transition exclusively to insured shipping on all orders.

Unfortunately, this past month we have experienced more lost, missing, or damaged packages than we have during our entire time in business.

We want to be clear: we are not bashing our shipping carrier. They handle a tremendous number of packages, and despite the weight of our packages the overwhelming majority of our shipments arrive without an issue. However, we also have to recognize when circumstances indicate an increased risk and it's time to make adjustments that better protect our customers and their orders.

We also want to be transparent about shipping costs. At BOAZ, we pass shipping costs on to our customers as accurately and transparently as possible. We don't intentionally inflate shipping charges as another way to make money on an order. At times you may find some of our products reflecting bulk pricing that includeds our standard insured shipping. When shipping-related costs increase because of insurance or carrier rates, those costs are reflected in the shipping charge rather than being hidden somewhere else in the price of your order.
