Providing USPSA Certified Ammunition since July 2025, as we submitted our first USPSA Certified Ammunition Manufacturers Declaration and sent our qualifying samples. We have been added to the USPSA Certified Ammunition Vendor List. In January 2026 Update: we added 135CMJ and 160TPJ. During Fall 2026 we plan to send our PCC Declaration and Samples.
What to expect at a USPSA Match?
First, we have a declaration form, called Certified Ammo Declaration, that must be filled out at sign-in/registration. Without that, the competitor cannot declare at chronograph. The process is spelled out, but they basically complete the form and hand over 8 rounds as a delivery sample.

What is USPSA Certified Ammunition?
USPSA certified ammo is ammunition that has been approved by the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) for use in competitions, ensuring it meets specific performance standards. This certification process involves manufacturers submitting samples and documentation to demonstrate compliance with USPSA rules regarding power factors and quality control.
Manufacturers must
- produce above 500,000 rounds annually of each submitted loading
- Provide their testing for:
- Quality Control, Velocity, Bullet Weight, Major/Minor, Track the specifics of compenents by Lot number
- The logo will be added to our website for each certified product and you may see either "Certified Ammunition" or "USPSA Certified Ammunition" on the packaging of USPSA eligible items or in our item descriptions. There will not be a logo on the item label but we do have the USPSA Cerfified Ammunition Lot number ont he label and we document that Lot Number on your order notes for your convenience.
What Grain 9mm Ammo Is Best for USPSA?
Why Competition shooters often use heavier 9mm bullets because they tend to retain energy better, provide more consistent performance, and can penetrate deeper, which is beneficial for accuracy and effectiveness in various shooting scenarios. Additionally, heavier bullets can help reduce recoil, allowing for faster follow-up shots. It really comes down to personal preference, snappy vs smooth recoil. When available we offer sampler packs that include three of the certified products. Typically 137TPJ, 147CMJ and 160TPJ but are based on availablity.
As of Jan 2026 the ammo will now be renewing certification annually in January.

What is the benefit of USPSA Certified Ammunition?
What this means for our customers, according to the NROI website the "certified ammunition provides a little insurance when you visit the chronograph station, since this ammunition has been tested by the vendor and by USPSA to ensure that it makes the advertised power factor. They maintain records of the ammunition when it is used, and report any anomalies to the vendor, sometimes marking the ammunition as not approved until any issues are resolved. Be sure to note if the ammunition if approved for all use, or PCC or Handgun only, as there are a couple that are firearm specific." There is other information on the website about what to expect at the chronograph station. (2026 Update: We submitted new samples that may not be included in the image at the time this was written.) Approved ammunition will be qualified as Certified Ammunition for 2 years as long as the manufacturer supplied samples are received on schedule, meet the declared power factor, and testing data is provided as appropriate.
What Is Power Factor in USPSA?
Power factor in USPSA is a measure of the momentum of a bullet, calculated by multiplying the bullet's weight in grains by its velocity in feet per second, then dividing by 1,000. It determines the scoring category of ammunition, with a power factor of 125 to 164 classified as Minor and 165 or higher as Major.
