TRENDZ at BOAZ for USPSA/IDPA Shooting?

What is trending at BOAZ?

The Total Metal Jacket (TMJ) is a very similar to a Full Metal Jacket (FMJ). TMJ is a completely covered bullet and the FMJ has exposed lead at the base.

The difference between TMJ and Federal Synthetic is the bullet coating. One being a metal coating (TMJ) and the other being a liquid/powder coating Total Polymer Jacket (TPJ) that gets baked on the bullet that serves as a lubricant.

We sell a variety of ammo to USPSA shooters. Our current trend shows shooters competing with metal frame guns like a CZ choose to shoot 124g-135g bullets. People that compete with polymer frame guns like Glock/Sig choose heavier 147g-160g bullets. With all that said it comes down to the individual. We still see guys successfully do the exact opposite of what was mentioned above. It really depends on you, how much snap do you like or how fast do you like the slide to cycle.

I shoot both 4.1” and 4.8” GP Arms guns. When competing in Steel Challenge matches, I prefer 124g ammo. If I’m shooting USPSA/IDPA, I use 147g ammo. The 124g ammo cycles the slide faster, makes the gun more snappy.
