5 160 grain 9mm tpj
Posted by Mike-O on Apr 19th 2026
Before I took the leap on buying a case, I snagged a sample pack to run through my staccato XC. The 137,147 and 160 grains ran amazing and burned clean in the gun. The finished product of the bullet itself is top knotch and you feel it when you load your mag, its like finding the last piece of the puzzle that brings everything to light. Running 160 gr out of a comped gun has this nice but weird feeling, almost like I get to re-learn my how I run my pistol in the best way possible. More of a push than anything else. Double and tripple taps that were more accurate became more of a thing than before. If you compete in any way possible, this is the ammunition you need to stock up on for the season.

This ammo is fun to shoot. It's really accurate, has really soft recoil, and shoots quietly through a suppressor.

This is now my go to 9mm round! Shoots great out of my suppressed MP5 and ported/comp'd Glock.

5 BOAZ 9mm 160gr – Soft Shooting and Fast on Target
Posted by Bryant F on Feb 21st 2026
I recently ran the BOAZ 9mm 160gr through my MR920, and it performed exceptionally well. The 160gr round shoots very flat with noticeably minimal recoil. The impulse feels more like a smooth push than a snap, which made recoil management effortless. Because of that softer recoil impulse, I was able to make very fast follow-up shots while keeping the dot stable and tracking predictably. Transitions felt controlled, and the gun settled back on target quickly. If you're looking for a soft-shooting competition round that allows for speed without sacrificing control, the BOAZ 160gr is definitely worth considering. It runs great in my MR920 and supports aggressive pacing without beating me up.
